DISCOVER YOUR PURPOSE
Your life is part of a greater archetypal story. Franklin Covey, the author of the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People stated effective people “begin with the end in mind.” As a personal development coach, I find that many people are unable to make important decisions because they do not have a big picture perspective regarding the individual meanings of their respective lives. If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will get you there. This quote is paraphrased from the book Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. I would add that if you don’t know where you’re going in life, then you are destined to be a consumer, a worker and a follower. Knowing where you are going in life, means you have a plan and measurable outcomes that guide your effectiveness and decision-making.
CREATE YOUR IDENTITY
You are not your past. The biggest changes in personal development happen within the context of identity and who you believe yourself to be and what you believe yourself to be capable of doing. Your identity determines your fate. When you encounter your primary purpose, you will in most cases find that all of your past limiting experiences prepared you for half of the journey, and your healing process will take you the rest of the way.
Knowing oneself is like peeling an onion. Each layer of ‘you’ consists of memories and projections that hold beliefs, attitudes and mindsets. Each layer you recover gives you a deeper knowledge of yourself and a greater ability to be more effective in life.
Becoming more valuable to your employer and increasing your earning potential enhances your capacity to fulfill your primary purpose. The leading ambition connected with your work should be accomplishment — not gain, but accomplishment,” wrote Edmond Bordeaux Szekely in Creative Work: Karma Yoga. In whatever field you work, pursue excellence and take pride in your results. Aspire to go as high as possible, because it will prepare you for your personal endeavors.
BECOME A LEADER
Are leaders born or created? It really doesn’t matter from my perspective… Ask yourself are you willing to lead? Being a leader isn’t sexy in most cases. It isn’t the glamorized, soundtrack-backed, paparazzi cameras flashing, slow motion scenes that Hollywood would have you believe. Being a leader can mean being unpopular. Being a leader means you have a vision of a potential future you desire to achieve. Being a leader means you must often negotiate and motivate people to fall in line and take action. An effective leader, by definition, leads by example. Often doing what others are unwilling to do in order to reach personal and organizational goals. Leadership means setting an example and doing what it takes to ensure that the organization fulfills its mission statement. Being a leader also means being willing to be the only one taking a stand for what you believe in. It can be lonely at the top… and meaningful when you follow your vision.
Giving more than you get as a way to ensure you will have plenty. There is an abundance of most things in this world yet most people are dominated by a mindset of scarcity. They play little games of ‘tit for tat’ or I’ll do ‘x’ if you do ‘y’. The best way to deal with competition is to not have any competition. Go over and above in terms of value and service. Don’t sell just a product or a service, also provide the emotions your clients desire to fulfill.
The more you lead and the more value you add, the more valuable you become in any organization. Most people have been conditioned to get into the middle class or stay in the middle class within a profession because this is safe and respectable and predictable. I encourage you to find the glass ceiling within your organization. At a certain level, you will max out your earning ability with most employers. At this point, you have three income possibilities: stay in your current position, go to a different employer, or start your own business venture. When you took action to maximize your earning potential, you expanded your realm of personal responsibility and began making different decisions. The goal is not to not work more but rather to endeavor in what you find meaningful. People will buy just about anything when they have the right reasons… Go ahead and reread that statement above. There are a great number of starving artists who share one common characteristic: they’re terrible business people because they do not believe they need to sell their art and instead are waiting to be ‘discovered.’ Most never are until it is too late. Whatever you bring to the world, you will have to sell others on its utility, function or benefits. Learning to persist despite rejection and manage objections is part of your path. The purpose behind maxing out your earning potential is not so that you can spend more but so that you have more resources to invest while pursuing your passions. Then, having the freedom to commit to your passions full-time at such a high level of quality that people in the marketplace are willing to pay you for your results.

Problems tend to be archetypal in nature and can be categorized contextually. GROUP COACHING BENEFITS
Harness the ability to think and act using knowledge, experience, understanding, common sense, and insight gained from group experiences. The best analogy I can think of is that we are all at different stages in life with unique experiences and perspectives. In all of our collective experiences, there are contextual overlaps that we share, but we don’t have the foresight or insights to see them coming so they catch us off guard even though the experienced individual could tell you what might potentially happen to you. In many ways, group coaching is similar to having someone else tell you that around the corner of a street where there is no streetlight, there is a big hole. Because you don’t know this, you will probably fall into it since you don’t know the existing options to avoid it. Group coaching gives you the ability to avoid the pitfalls so many others have fallen into – simply because there was no one there to warn them. For this reason alone, it is recommended that we all study world history. As the quote by Edmund Burke goes, “Those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it.” This applies to our personal histories as well.
A sense of choice comes from having options and the resources to manage circumstances I believe what most people want are more choices in life. A broader range of emotions and options to experience. The power of NLP and hypnosis-based coaching is that you can re-train your neurology by creating new neural pathways (a fancy term for ‘learning’) and choose to respond by design to old and new anticipated situations instead of reacting to circumstance by default. The choice is always yours… If you aren’t controlling your own mind, then who or what is? Leave nothing that you desire to experience to chance – including your thoughts.
